GOD

I guess the title is firm enough to justify how enigmatic this topic is. A topic that has so many theories, so many conglomerated facts, so many inferences. I take a huge risk giving my own opinion here. Let me start off by making it clear that I am a firm believer in god. If we look at the synonyms the word has we get a clearer idea of what we are discussing about. A supreme power, A controller of the universe. These words seem a lot superstitious, but when we try to crack the meaning we may find some logic, some sense. We know the world as it is today but its origin and about how the nature came to such a beautiful balance and who is the macro-controller of all the happenings are questions that eat your head up, the deeper you go. Finally the answer to all has to be that there is some super power that is overlooking(in literal sense) upon us, and conveniently the concept of god was introduced.

This post is not about religion, its solely about why there is a need of belief of a supreme power.
An instance from the book/movie "The Da Vinci Code" gives a good picture to us as to why we must have faith in god. Professor Langdon explains that in his childhood he had once fallen into a well. It was almost certain he would not make it through that fatal fall till the rescue came, but he does. In the climax scene when he has discovered a fact against Jesus, he explains why the truth must not be brought out to the public, he says when he was in that well, he had no strength left in him and though he was not a follower of god he called for help and hoped that lord would come and extend his helping hands and save him, that faith he reveals helped him make it through that situation. There are millions of instances that can be quoted regarding faith having come to help of a person in dangerous, fatal conditions. So, though there is no proof of existence of god, there is simply no harm in having faith. Its just an image, a form of that you give to the natural energy that comprises god. It need not be what our ancestors have been believing in, it could just be your own creation that you may believe in because it is the belief that matters and not the form you believe in

People may find god in the deity of their religion, in their loved ones, in music, in their loved sport. And these people are bound to rely on these entities when in need of help. For those who say they are an atheist, they must realize that involuntarily they are attached to something in their life that they turn to when in despair. And this realization will only help them nurture their will power catalysed by faith.

So the next time when you are saying "Oh! my god" give a thought to this omnipotent entity of nature and respect it, you'll see a difference in your perception of life and its only for the greater good!
